YD1000 High-Voltage Drive Passes 13-Point Type Test Programme

The YD1000 high-voltage variable-frequency drive system has completed a type test programme comprising thirteen separate tests, with every test passed and each one meeting its verification criteria.
Type testing is the step between a design and a product that can be sold into projects. Unlike a routine production test, which checks that a particular unit works, a type test exercises the design against defined stresses and records the results against published criteria, so a specifying engineer or a consultant can rely on the numbers without testing the equipment themselves.
The programme was carried out under a testing arrangement that China recognises for internationally accepted standards, meaning the test criteria, instrumentation and procedures align with international practice and the results are intended to be comparable with those obtained anywhere else.
For high-voltage drives this is the evidence that matters most in procurement, because the equipment goes into metallurgy, mining, power and water projects where a failure is expensive and where the buyer usually cannot verify the electronics personally. The test report and the certificate are available from the company, and the underlying figures are what a project specification should be checked against.
