Yolico VFD

High Voltage VFD

Medium- and high-voltage variable frequency drives (3 kV, 6 kV, 10 kV classes) — often specified as medium-voltage frequency converters — move large motors in power plants, mines, cement, and water works where low-voltage units cannot. Our multi-level topologies deliver clean output with low dv/dt, protecting old motor windings and reducing bearing currents. Power-cell bypass keeps the line running even if one cell faults.

Selection depends on the motor voltage class, rated power (typically 500–5000 kW), and whether you need soft start only or full variable speed. Plan for transformer capacity, cooling water or air, and cable routing in the switchroom. Harmonic limits often matter for grid connection, so ask about input transformers and 12- or 18-pulse arrangements.

We support EPC contractors and plant engineers with single-line diagrams, commissioning, and spare-cell stocking plans. Share your motor nameplate and process curve and we size the converter within 24 hours. Our factory builds cells, cabinets, and bypass panels to project specs. How to Select the Right High Voltage

  1. Check the motor nameplate: rated power, current, voltage and frequency.
  2. Identify the load type — variable torque (fans, pumps) or constant torque (conveyors, compressors, mills).
  3. Match the drive's rated output current to the motor's full-load current, not just the kW rating.
  4. Confirm the overload requirement: 120% for light duty, 150% or more for heavy duty.
  5. Check the environment: ambient temperature, dust, humidity and cable length derating.
  6. Send us your specifications — we confirm frame size and quote FOB/CIF within 24 hours.
