Motor Soft Starters

Soft starters limit inrush current on motor start, reducing mechanical stress and voltage dip on the supply. Unlike a variable frequency drive (VFD), they control only the ramp up to full speed and hold no set speed afterwards. Our range covers 5.5–930 kW: conventional current-limited starters with a built-in bypass contactor and pump control that removes water hammer, plus variable-frequency soft starters such as the SPG, which hold the switching current to 1.2 times the motor rating under V/f control.

Choose the starter by motor power and the start type you need — voltage, current, or torque ramp. Pumps and compressors benefit from a controlled stop that prevents column reversal and surge. Confirm the supply voltage and whether you need protection functions such as overload, phase loss, and stall. Heat-sink sizing depends on start frequency.
